We believe in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the ground of all being. God spoke the universe into existence, and maintains it by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). "All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made." (John 1:3)
All of them: male and female; all races — are created in the image of this God, and so are uniquely valuable and precious.
Sadly, we have all rebelled against this God who created us. Each of us has given in to sin so much that it now has control over us. We have made ourselves enemies of God, and of one another too.
But God has come to us in the Person of His Son, Jesus, to rescue us from the power and penalty of sin, and to reconcile us to Himself and to one another. In giving up his life as a sacrifice on the cross, Jesus has won an eternal victory over the powers of sin and death — for they were not able to hold this man in their power (Acts 2:24). He did this "while we were still His enemies" (Romans 5:10) — and so has made a way for everyone back into fellowship with God.
We believe that all of this is revealed in the teaching and person of Jesus; in the inspiration of the Bible; and daily by the presence and activity (including the fruit and gifts) of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that everyone is invited to turn away from their old ways and to follow Jesus (“take up your cross”), and to start a new life with Him — this new life begins right when we make that choice.
We believe that the church consists of all people who have done this, and continue to walk with Him. That believers are to be baptised as a sign of death to self, and resurrection with Christ. That we are to share bread and wine to remember his death, and as a sign of our fellowship.
We believe that Christians both are, and belong to, the Body of Christ — all Christians throughout history (past, present, and still to come), and throughout the world — and that this inclusive 'belonging' is to be reflected in our lives and our worship.
We believe that all Christians have a duty to share the message of salvation (gospel of deliverance) through both words and actions. Jesus instructs us to share our faith, (“make disciples of all nations”), teach one another and build up the Church – “the Body of Christ”.
We believe that Jesus will come again, and that we are to look forward to the day of God and speed its coming (2 Peter 3:12) by our lives and evangelism — because on that day, there will be people from every tribe and tongue and nation (Revelation 7:9) worshipping before his throne.
